Superlum D-series Broadlighters are very broadband, low-coherence AC powered benchtop light sources based on
two single-mode fiber coupled superluminescent diode modules with slightly shifted central wavelengths combined by an appropriate broadband single-mode fiber coupler.
The design of SLD module controllers ensures excellent operation stability of light sources. The most powerful versions are available with and without optical isolators that
protect SLDs from optical feedback.
The devices are developed for optical test and measurement
applications including:
Optical coherence tomography
Characterization of optical components
Optical fiber metrology
Optical measurements
The following D-series Broadlighters are commercially available (since April 2011, model D-840-HP has replaced D-830 and D-855):
All light sources are powered directly from a wall outlet, 220 V AC or 110 V AC.
Physical dimensions: 254 × 158 × 318 mm.
Weight: 6 kg.
Operating temperature range: 0 °C to +40 °C.
Superlum offers companion
software to operate your D-series Broadlighter remotely from your PC/laptop.
